Workload Calculator

Find out how many weeks a team needs to finish a body of work, based on team size and real weekly capacity.

Combined weekly capacity128 hours

How the calculation works

Multiplies team size by each person's realistic weekly capacity, hours actually available for focused work, not a full 40-hour week, to get the team's combined weekly output. Dividing the total work required by that combined capacity gives the number of weeks needed, rounded up since a partial week still requires a full week on the calendar.

Formula

Combined Weekly Capacity = Team Size × Real Hours Per Person Per Week. Weeks Needed = Total Work Required ÷ Combined Weekly Capacity, rounded up to a whole week.

Examples

  • 200 hours of work, team of 4, 32 real hours/week each

1.56 weeks needed (rounds up to 2 weeks), 128 combined hours/week

  • 500 hours of work, team of 5, 30 real hours/week each

3.33 weeks needed (rounds up to 4 weeks), 150 combined hours/week
