Commission Calculator
Calculate sales commission from sales amount and commission rate, plus an optional base salary.
How the calculation works
Multiply the sales amount by the commission rate to get the commission earned, then add any base salary for the period to get total pay. This assumes a flat commission rate; tiered commission structures (different rates at different sales thresholds) need to be calculated tier by tier and summed.
Formula
Commission = Sales Amount × (Commission Rate ÷ 100). Total Pay = Base Salary + Commission.
Examples
$20,000 in sales, 8% commission, no base
$1,600.00 total pay
$50,000 in sales, 5% commission, $2,000 base
$4,500.00 total pay ($2,500 commission + $2,000 base)
